A home of innocent child like people who have been isolated from the soceity because of mental retardation. It upholds the dignity of mentally retarded people and gives them oppurtunity for full life. People with mental retardation may be described as having developmental disabilities, global developemental delay or learning difficulties. But aasraya identifies their difficulties and give them special school facility and vocational training along with entertainments Aasraya owns 4.2 Acres of land and it is cultivated for the needs of inmates and allows them to involve in such activities thereby giving a chance to grow along with nature. A diary and poultry farm is also maintained for the use of inmates. Inmates are provided with a homely and lively atmosphere. Hygenic life with nutritious diet is ensured. Aasraya assures better living conditions for the wards. The centre at present renders dormitory accomodation for 30 people in the first phase and considering to construct independent rooms for the inmates. Legal guardianship of the inmates is also undertaken on request. Medical assistance and periodical checkups for inmates arranged at the new Gokulam Medical College Hospital and Leela Ravi Medical Trust at Venjarammoodu.
